You've seen some pretty
strange stuff on the web. Can you believe it? Given the vast
amount of contradictory information out there, probably not.
Conspiracy theories abound, having found a place and a
strangely willing audience.
Don't be fooled.
No doubt there are
conspiracies, those involving small numbers of people, do
exist. But most of what's foisted on a gullible public are
nothing short of ludicrous, playing on general fears and the
ready availability of non-evidence on the internet.
Think about it, so many
diverse organizations like the American Cancer Society, airlines, all the pharmaceuticals, all the doctors, an
entire space agency and so forth can't possibly be in on
some grand conspiracy. If you start hearing such nonsense,
perk up and be skeptical.
And just because a company
wants to make money, doesn't make them evil. How do YOU get
paid? Most likely its a company that makes money doing
something!
All companies want to make
money, some are certainly more ruthless than others, but
that cuts across all fields. No doubt you've discovered that
in other endeavors.
This site has been put up
to counter what I and many others see as a growing trend in
the stupidification of America who gullibly believe stuff
just because it appears on a slick looking website, on TV or
in a book.
When a new claim is made,
or an old one rebranded, perk your ears up and look around.
Remember, it's up to them to prove validity, not you (or
others) to disprove it.
If I claim I have a 300
mpg carburetor mod but there's no independent verification,
you should have serious doubts. This is simply being careful
with one of humankind's most precious possession's:
knowledge.
